Los Alcázares is one of the most attractive areas of the Mar Menor. Shopping areas, bars and restaurants are opened all year round.It gets much busier during the summer months when many events and celebrations take place and the town´s population doubles.

Traditionally is was a fisherman’s town which evolved and has nowadays all the services and amenities. The promenade is more than 5km long, there are many beaches, nautical and sailing centers to practice water related activities all year round.

Its origins go back to Roman and Arab times which can be enjoyed in some of the celebrations, like in Easter when the raids of the Barbarian pirates are recreated, the pirated ashore on the beach and there is a medieval street market. During the summer months there is a wide range of events and in October takes place one of the most important gastronomic events in the Region of Murcia, the locals prepare the typical “caldero” (a rice and fish dish) on the beach following the traditional method.

Los Alcázares is conveniently located with two accesses to AP-7, close to the main cities of Cartagena (20mins) and Murcia (40mins), its proximity to the airport, local golf course and sport facilities and a stable climate with mild temperatures and an average of 300 days of sunshine a year.
