Torrevieja is the largest metropolitan area in the south of Alicante and Alicante´s 3rd largest city. It is based in the mediterranean shore of the Costa Blanca and next to the Natural Park of Lagunas de La Mata y Torrevieja. It has a population of 89.000 inhabitants which rises during the summer months. There is a marina, sport facilities, museums, shopping centers, hospitals and a wide range of bars and restaurants.

Torrevieja is a popular holiday destination for many Spanish people and over the past decades has also become very popular spot for international tourism. There is a long promenade all along the city that connects to the different beaches, there are also touristic routes along the sea salt farms, coast and natural areas. Due to its proximity visiting the natural beaches of La Mata going north, or on the other hand, going south the area of Orihuela Costa which also has many activities, leisure areas and beaches to visit.

Torrevieja has several accesses by the national road N-332 and an access to the AP-7, Alicante international airport is 45km from the city and there are many golf courses within a radius of 20km
